Climate Change Adaptation

This course examines the concepts, principles, and strategies for climate change adaptation in various development sectors, emphasizing an understanding of climate risks, ecosystem and community vulnerability, and ecosystem-based, technological, policy-based, and socio-cultural adaptation approaches. Students learn about global-regional climate dynamics, their environmental and socio-economic impacts, and international and national regulatory instruments. The integration of adaptation into sustainable development planning, spatial planning, resource management, and disaster risk reduction is also discussed. Through case studies, discussions, and policy analysis, students are expected to be able to formulate adaptation strategies that are contextual, innovative, and based on scientific evidence.

Technology Adaptation and Digital Transformation

This course examines fundamental concepts of technology and digital transformation and their impact across various industries. Students are introduced to technology adoption evaluation frameworks and are encouraged to analyze and assess factors influencing technological change through case studies, culminating in evaluation reports and implementation recommendations.

Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation

Climate change is a global challenge that has widespread impacts across various sectors of life. In the Climate Change Adaptation course, students study the fundamentals of climate change, including its causes and effects, the concept and mechanisms of carbon trading, and carbon capture storage in climate change mitigation. The course content is focused on preparing draft documents for climate change mitigation action plans. At the end of the course, students are expected to be able to develop a climate change mitigation action plan document. The learning objectives will be achieved through face-to-face lectures, individual assignments, group projects, and a final exam.

Adaptive Reuse

The Adaptive Reuse course aims to equip students with an understanding and skills to design adaptive reuse strategies for buildings in response to changing social dynamics, environmental conditions, and sense of place. This course focuses on the ability to identify the potential of existing spaces, develop innovative design ideas while respecting the original character of buildings, and formulate design solutions that are relevant and impactful to their surrounding environment.

Religion - Buddha

The Buddhist Religion course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the teachings, values, and practices of Buddhism based on its fundamental sources. Students will explore the Tipitaka/Tripitaka scriptures as the primary foundation, examine the philosophy and historical development of Buddhism, and study the universal laws embedded within its teachings. The course also discusses the concept of the One Supreme God (Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa) in the Buddhist perspective, the values of sīla (morality) as ethical guidelines, and their relevance in addressing the challenges of science and technology in modern life. Furthermore, students will gain insight into the Buddhist community concept, interreligious harmony, and the dynamics of Buddhist culture and politics within the national context of Indonesia. As part of spiritual practice, students will be introduced to samatha bhavana (meditation for mental tranquility) and vipassana bhavana (insight meditation) as methods of self-cultivation applicable to daily life. Through this course, students are expected to develop attitudes and behaviors guided by the fundamental teachings of Buddhism, enabling them to live wisely and ethically, both as individuals and as members of society who uphold moral values, compassion, and harmony.

Religion - Islam

This course examines the core concepts, values, and principles of Islamic teachings, alongside an analysis of Muslim society and its sources from both essential and applied perspectives. The instructional design employs a general theoretical framework, which is complemented by case-based learning to enhance students’ understanding of Islamic Religious Studies. The course aims to develop students who possess strong faith and piety toward Allah, uphold noble character, an Islamic worldview, openness, and respect for diversity. Furthermore, students are expected to integrate Islamic values into their respective fields of study and apply these values to personal character and ethical behavior.

Religion - Catholic

The Catholic Religion Course introduces students to concepts related to the calling to life according to the Holy Bible; the nature of relationships humans with themselves, each other, nature and God; synthesizing faith and religion in the context of pluralism; study the figure of Jesus Christand the mystery of the Triune God; and shows the social dimensions of faith and the church

Religion - Konghucu

The Confucianism Course discusses Ru-Confucianism as a religion that is both Religious and Philosophical, with the aim of cultivating students’ faith, morality, and spirituality. This course examines the understanding of sacred texts, the purpose of life and the afterlife, as well as how a Junzi should behave in living their life. It also explores the creation of the universe and humanity, and its relation to the essence of human existence, suffering, trials, disasters, divinity and faith in Ru-Confucianism, Prophets and Prophethood, Shenming, and deities. In addition, this course studies places of worship, rituals, and religious festivals, along with the fundamental values contained within them, which are grounded in the concepts of yin-yang, Tian-Di-Ren, and the historical development of Confucianism. Ultimately, this learning is expected to encourage students to embody faith, ethics, and morality in their daily lives, with the conviction that only virtue is pleasing before Tian.
